1993 CBR 900RR with Erion Racing Triple Tree
Thanks scutfargas. I'd like to do a couple of small things like changing the aftermarket front fender, rearsets and brake lines back to stock. Other than that, I'm going to leave it alone.
Red/white/black one? Aren't those the '94 colors? Don't you have a '93 (red/white/blue)?

No, I got rid of the F2 shortly after buying the 900RR. It was a great bike and I had it for about 10 years. I would have held on to it but the F2s are so common. No disrespect to any F2 owner because I really did love that bike. I just really like the mass-produced bikes that are a little more hard to find.
Hey, question for you: Is that a Corbin seat on your 900RR? How do you like it?

Yes, it is a Corbin and I like it. I like the stock seat too though. I can't seem to decide which one I like better and I switch back and forth between the two. I can tell you that I wouldn't pay full price for one. I don't think it is worth it.
what are ya lookin to get for the fender?
I just picked one of these up myself (see my Avatar).. super clean, but the seller said he put a battery in that was new, but had been sitting for some years in the box. He said it started with a full charge 2 months ago, but has been sitting a lot, and from what I can tell, the battery no longer holds a charge. Meter says it's getting anywhere from 10+ to 13.x and it holds steady in correlation with the RPMs. I'm thinking just a bad battery... but I noticed you guys talking about the charging system going out as if they were famous for that. Fill me in? is it just the Erions, or all of this year model?

Sadly it is all years of the 900 that have the charging system problem, If your battery won't hold a charge start there. Replace it and check your voltage again, If it goes dead sitting it is more than likely the voltage regulator/rectifier. It is mounted under the right tail fairing, Take a close look at the plug. They get hot and change colors, Since Honda didn't put cooling fins on them they can overheat and cause problems
Your voltage readings are low as well, It could be the battery causing this. With the new battery installed put a volt meter across the battery and check them again, It should read closer to 12.6 or better at idle and go up as the revs increase to around 14.2
Good luck bro, Hope this helps you out a little

I picked up this bike a couple of years ago for a pretty good deal. I have been slowly going through it, getting it back to stock, with the exception of a few tasteful modifications. Which brings me to today's question...
The bike came with an Erion Racing triple tree, which I know is not stock. I've never seen this on any other 900RR and was just wondering if there is any significance to it or if anyone knows anything about it. It looks nice but I was thinking about putting the stock triple tree back on.
