Using a battery charger
Hey guys.
Just a quick question. I recently bought a battery charger/tender for my F2. I read the manual and it says to attach the positive end to the positive post, and the negative end to the chassis or engine block. I am used to attaching the neg clamp onto the neg post, ala jump starting a car. Is it normal to attach the neg to the chassis? Just wanted to make sure!
Thanks!

RE: Using a battery charger
I think its a saftey thing. Once you hook up the positive, you are supposed to then hook up the negative to a remote ground. I think this is to insure that in case the battery explodes upon hookup, you are not directly over it. There are vapors around the battery that can ignite if there is a spark.
Also, there will be a little more resistance due to the ground being connected remotely from the battery. this may aid in a nice slow charge... Don't really know though..
