Default Adjustable Ignition Rotor?

I bought an adjustable ignition rotor made by Fast By Ferracci that came with no instructions for the old F2. It has 5 index marks on it. Which way is which? One long mark in the middle and 2 marks on each side. Lets assume the long mark is 12 o'clock and the short marks are 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock, then the long one in the middle be 12 o'clock, then 1 o'clock, and 2 o'clock. I would think the 12 o'clock mark is stock, but which way is advance and how many degrees is each mark? Should of bought the non adjustable one. They are all + 2 or more. But I read some where + 2 or 3 is best for a basicly stock bike. Thanks guys. I checked out Muzzy's advancer for the zx14 and it said to mount it then loosen the set screws, rotate it clockwise and tighten set screws. So the way I see it rotating clockwise would mean the 10 o'clock mark and 11 o'clock mark would be advanced. But Muzzy and Kawasakis might be different. I dont know. Thanks.

before you take your stock rotor off can't you just pull the bolt, look where the indexing is in the splines? Then match the splines up then orient the marks to the marks on the stock rotor?

Advanced would be toward the direction of rotation, retarding the spark would be away
from the rotation of the shaft. At least that's my understanding of the mechanics of it.

I think I understand what you are saying. The engine rotates clockwise, so if I rotate the adjustable advancer clock wise it would trigger the signal sooner. Thanks Hatter.
