But its seeming like a good idea to strip the bike completely down, just little things here and there that have been ignored. And by the time im done i should have a really nice blade

Yeah, you have a couple of months to go through it before you're into good weather, right?

I hope your uncle can fix it, but I'd really make sure the frame is straight and 100% functional.

well i guess its time for a little update. Seems that the original frame cracked from the engine being mounted improperly. a PO snapped two of the side mounting bolts, and instead of removing the old bolts, drilled through them very crooked. Im pretty sure this is where the chattering was coming from. Anyway, I had my uncle weld up the bolt holes as they were WAY to wallered to helicoil. But with the engine being mounted the way it was, tweaked the frame just enough so all the mounting holes did not line up. Found a frame on ebay. stripped the crappy white paint off of it and found a couple small dents that had body filler in them, said screw it and took it to a local shop to get powder coated and am now in the process of getting her back together.

Might have the subframe and/or swingarm powdercoated in the future, want to see how it all looks once together.
Also decided to order some HK fairings, After repairing fairings on the two f3's I had, i had no desire to repair these.

I figured ill also mention that after my Uncle had welded up the mounting holes, he noticed something rattling around the engine when he tilted/moved it around. pulled the oil pan and out came an 8x32 flange bolt. After taking off all the engine covers and going over the engine with a fine tooth comb, finally found where it came from.

Also explains the cam chain rattle upon startup, CCT actually seems good. Luckily the only thing the bolt hit was the timing gear(still good though). Transmission appeared to be in great shape too, so that was a relief.

there are two on the left side of the frame right above the mounting bolts. very shallow, probably just got dropped a time or two. But after the PC you cant really see them.
the issues have kinda sucked, but worst case scenario if I dont decide to keep it, ill break even.
