OK, thanks Floggit, just for you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
WHY ?
You could just 'raise the rear' by 20mm by lowering the front forks in the clamps......

Yes you can raise the rear suspension. It is easy. Just drill a new hole in the dogbone to make it shorter, but beware so that you dont move the hole so the spring will hook up into the swingarm at movement.
The raise will be about 10 cm (or 4 inches for you who measures the old way) if I remember correctly.

Ignore the WHY people.
You will get a much quicker steering response and a better/more modern looking Hurricane.
It is the best mod I have done to my own old CBR1000.

I include some pictures...

No Honda Hurricane, wrong message ..........
Do not ignore the WHY people.......
There's a perfectly good reason for the question - I already asked whether he wanted to imorove the steering response.
Whether he just was doing it to make it ride differently, or whether he wanted it just for looks. The man didn't answer, despite 3 of us asking why.

If someone is asking about a modification which, if done incorrectly, could endanger his life and that of a passenger, I will always ask WHY, and I will continue to do so.
WHY ? - Because I care...............

OK. My bad.
I thought you were asking why so you could throw it in his face with som smart remarks about... why. I have seen that being done i some posts around here where new guys ask questions, and I dont like it.

But still its a good modification, once I came across the off-road feeling after the first test with the high Hurricane.

Sorry to offend you guys for beeing careing.

Fair enough
It's strange - some guys want to raise the bars because they have back problems, some want to raise the rear for quick steering response,(which puts more weight on the wrists) others want to stiffen the front suspension, and so on.
Everybody's different, and everyone wants something to be different on their bike.
We're not into roasting newbies here - all we ask is WHY - I know I can speak for the regulars on this forum who would not wish to endanger others (especially a newbie, who we know nothing about- he also hasn't bothered to introduce himself in the newcomer section, or tell us about his level of ability) by giving him ideas which he's not competent to complete. I've seen too many accident that shouldn't have happened because of such botched "modifications"
If you see someone roasting a new member, send me a PM and I'll help you sort out the problem. It doesn't happen on the Hurricane section, to my knowledge.
