Seeing as Shadow closed the thread that jgroce1985 put on about extending swingarms before any pictures were offered. Here are a couple for you mate, hope they help you. Seems some folk are just a bit **** about keeping bikes standard but I think if it works for you then go for it bud.

I though I had this stowed away this morning via PM ???
No one is try to bust your ***** ....even Moderators have specific opinions about CBR's ...
Read enough of our Hurricane section and you will see that we tend to be quite candid and open about thing here ...
I am not deleting , editing or locking this ...
but .........hey ...leave it alone guys ...
No matter how you see things .... we are here to keep the peace any way we see fit and that is not open for comment unless you feel that this place is not for you ? ...
Shadow is a long time respected member and one of the top guys here ...
Can we just let this slide and remind you that as you said , you guys are new and that perhaps after you too have rolled a few thousand helpful posts here , that you may get the chance to say your peace a bit more freely ...
We do a tough job here with around the 400 - 600 /visitors 24x7 every day !!! so cut Pete some slack and let it go !! ....
One more word that does not refer to your bike , swing arm or CBR's in general and you will I am sorry to say , have me to deal with .....and yes this is no democracy here ...pay your dues like all of us have to and then you may be given the choice to say what you think about how we run this place ...
I remind you , that this is no threat , it is a warning to keep to the topic and leave the running of this place to us and absolutely refrain from passing judgment on any of the Administrators please ...
If you want to take this further ...PM me .... but loose any further comment on the board ...
thanks for your co operation ...

The major concern I have with this, apart from the personal abuse, is the fact that jgroce has no idea about the bike he is attempting to make into a drag bike.
First off, the California 1000F was a limited production run in those colors, for 1990 only as far as I know. and is quite sought after by collectors.
Secondly, the California bikes were restricted in production to produce only around 100 BHP as opposed to the standard CBR1000F, which puts out around 125-133 BHP.
On that count alone, the Cali bike isn't a good choice for a drag bike -
The weight distribution causes the rear wheel to spin, and the front won't climb.
The weight at 252Kg's, or around 550 Lbs, makes it a heavy lump to get off the line, and to stop. The rear brake will lock up at the slightest provocation, and throw you on your *** if you aren't aware of it.
A GSX 750 is about 175Kg's or around 400 Lbs. You can't chop off that much weight of a 1000Fto even make it a fair contest.
Your sprocketing on a 1000F to run drags would have to be around 15/46, front to rear.
For a 1/8 track you don't have time to build up momentum, to overcome the weight problems that the 1000F add to the power/weight equation, so not a good option.
These bikes are sport tourers, not designed even vaguely for dragging, but do what you want.
If however, you are interested in getting some useful information about the bike you are attempting to mod, then the above may be useful. Go get yourself a manual at www.carlsalter.com
If you ask the right questions, some of us know some of the answers.
The swing arm is the least of your problems.
You can do what you like to what you like - I could really care less.
