near mint '88 worth?
my dad has a pretty cool, near mint '88 hurricane.
blk/red with white powdercoated wheels
d&d 4-2-1, muzzy can, widened kosman rear wheel, jet kit, degreed cams
don't know how or why, but this bike is quite a bit faster than any other 1000F we've come across. runs heads up with ZX11s all day and makes street squids on all new bikes look silly.
what do you guys think it's worth?

Hey:
They are only worth what you can sell them for not a penny less or a penny more.
AVG prices for 87-88 CBR1KF have been $300 on the low end or stuffed markets to about $2,200 WHERE THEY ARE SOUGHT AFTER. thats all USA prices. which tend to be the lowest on these bikes overall for about the last 5 years. I have had seen 3 great runners go for $400 for a new tires, 4:1 pipe, corbin seat one, to $1,200 perfect 800 mile stock one that runs but has sat awhile. Mods tend to lower the value unless its mods the next owner was planning on doing the same as what you have. Stone stock, low miles, in mint shape may see the best resale value for the seller in most markets.
Sometimes they are worth way more in parts than together a sad but true fact as the fairings are much sought after in good shape. A recent drag setup 88, went for $1,000 with plenty of spares on craigslist, the guy that purchased it broke it out and still has what he wanted to keep and made $1,500 on it on ebay. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.
Canadian prices tend to be quite higher than US, except in parts.
Post a pic of his bike
