Default Speedo Healer

My buddy has the speedo healer on his 07 GSXR-750.....and the healer has a button where it will show your last top-speed. So when he presses it, it shows up on his digital speedo.
....i was wondering how it would work with our F3 gauges (analog). Would the needle just spin/pan over to the last top-speed when the bike wasnt started...(well in the "on" posistion of our ignition) when pushing the button on the speedo healer?

....im not sure if thats all clear hopefully some1 understands

i assume it will. i have the speedohealer on my f3, but im using the f4i guages. so it just shows the top speed real quick. cool little feature, but rarely used.

also the speedohealer is way easy to install. plug and play, and the plug on the f3 is under the right fairing, so u dont even have to take the tank off

It should work the same way as on a digital speedometer. The way they do it is by sending a signal to the speedometer just as if the bike was moving at that speed. You want to be careful of using this feature too often because the odometer would be incrementing as well, just as if you were traveling at that speed for however long it displays the max speed. I would assume that it only displays for a few seconds at a time, but it could add up.

I have it on mine with the stock speedo and yes, it jumps the needle up to the top speed, hangs for a few seconds, then shuts off. Do keep in mind it racks up miles while doing this (I accidently put probably 15 artificial miles on the bike this way playing with it)

ta8218, have you checked the accuracy of your speedometer against something like a GPS ? Also, is it accurate across then entire scale ? If it is different at different speeds, is it linear across the scale ?

i did mine with a gps. and actually you can get it right on. mines right on till about 100mph where its 1mph off. but i still have more decimals on the speedohealer that could take that out.

weird... I thought i responded to this already. must not have gone through.
Yeah mines accurate up to 100, with +1 -2 sprockets. It ought to work with stock ones as well.
I checked top speeds on the speedohealer and gps every few miles down the road, all worked well.

On the subject of racking up artificial miles by using the top speed recall function it's worth noting that if you change sprocket size and don't use a speedohealer you'llbe doing exactly that (depending on which way you went on sprocket size!)
