No. You have to remove some 'bits'.

if I'm not mistaken, the fuse/ radiator fill, and relay covers- right under the hand controls- wo bolts each, and it'll be on the side of the fairing on the curved part- it'll make sense once you find it-

1998 is located on left hand side underneath the cover panel

Left side right under the plastic.

It's not a big deal, I think all 98s and 99s have it.
