How to get my bike track compliant?
 

I plan on hitting up a few track days this year. Never have been. I dont plan on using my bike for this more than I do daily riding.. but I need to know what parts are not allowed at the track? I already don't have mirrors. Is a tether kill switch required? I'm assuming most of the guys in this forum have an idea of what is needed to be able to ride a track. And I'm assuming each track may have different rules, if I knew which track I planned on going to I would just call them and ask but Im just trying to get a general idea.

Each track day organization has its own rules, and they tend to vary based on what group you're riding in, such as novice, intermediate, or advanced.

For the novice group usually you don't need to do anything other than remove your mirrors and tape your lights. Some want you to safety wire your oil plug, fill cap, and filter.

As you get into the faster groups, you might need to use water wetter instead of antifreeze, have a belly pan, and remove your kickstand.

Main thing is to show up with good tires and brake pads, and a throttle that snaps back when released. Pretty much everything else you can do once you're there.

Have Fun! The track is really the only place you can use these bikes the way they were engineered to be used.

I agree. No street or country road does these bikes justice. Thats why Im so excited to go. Thanks Munson that definitely gives me a better idea of what Ill be looking at when I decide to go

Many riders loose their desire to ever ride on the street again after experiencing track riding. Try not to enjoy yourself too much!

I can see how that would happen.. I plan to just go a few times a year just to get my fix for my need for speed :)
