Default Trackday Brakepads

This weekend will be my first time at a "big" track. Previously I've ridden smaller, technical tracks. I'm going to Summit Main and I expect to hit at least 5th gear flatout on the straight going into T-1. I've always ridden on Street pads. I expect to bring along with me a set of race pads I bought (u guessed it...eBay).

Should I switch to these pads just for that cirucuit or should I stick with a known quantity? Anyone use these so-called "Race" pads before? (I didn't look before I leaped) Should I junk them (I paid less than $15 for them)?

I wouldnt use them, especially not to try and bring you down from 150+mph.Never heard of "Race" brand;there is a reason good brake pads cost alot of money. and there is a reason those only cost $15

Then I'll stick with my EBC HH. Actually it's the first time in a long time, I've been happy with my braking power and consistency :-)

Race pads should not be used on the street, ever.

Also, race pads cost more than HH pads, and don't use anything that doesn't have an identifiable brand (your life and bike are depending on them).

Yea, I'd stay away from no-name pads... Not worth the chance.

My pads had plenty of life left. I usually go through about 2 sets per year (I change when the feel gets weird). They worked great on the Main Circuit andcould stop HARD enough to scare the bejeez out of me. And Yes, I did get flatout 5th gear down the straight (but I'm still a wuss).

I need a LOT of trackwork, I sucked big time this weekend.
