Default wheelie info..

so the other day I threw a party and a dude told me that I had a sick bike.
obviously he had never ridin a 1000 and me feelign good I said I bet you would **** your pants
ridin that thing.(little did I know he knew how to stunt).
long story short my buddy had his cbr 600 and I took his bike and I let the dude ride my 1000 rr,
went with him on the highway, and the bastard passed me doin about a quater mile wheelie.

So I was kind of excited that he just laid a nice one, and told him to do more in front of me in this private place so I could hear the engine and clutch.
It seemed to me that when he was doint them staggered he almost used no clutch and he must of only been goin 20/30 mph.

Hpwever when I try to do them I seem to use a lot more cluch than he did. but im also sitting down.
Does sittin with your nuts against the tank prevent the bike from comming up?(I do that beacuse that's the way I ride)

or standin staggered requires less clutch because of wiegh being way back?

Sorry for the big *** letter..

yea it does. You gotta think about it. Staggered you have more wieght on the back tire. More wieght on the back tire takes more of the front, making the front lighter.

Do you guys have any suggestions on learning it staggered?

You dont have to lower the tire pressure to do staggered.. Highway wheelies are just fine with normal tire pressure or maybe 5 lbs less.

Anyways, you just gotta try it and see how it feels to you. Dont loop it though cause its alot easier to clutch it to high if you dont know what you are doing.

i run 33psi for all non-slow ****....

i ran 12psi once for like 50mph and 2nd gear wheelies, it gets ****in wobbly! ...mighta just been the wind tho.

staggered WILL feel weird as hell when ur starting....here is how i got used to it. went out one night and said im gonna do nothing but staggered for like a 100 runs back and forth on the street. by the time i was done, i loved em! i didn't do a single sit-down that night.

just go out and practice man, know ones gonna give you a "how-to" on getting comfortable with staggered, you just gonna go, practice, and get comfortable with it yourself.

Yeah O know what you guys mean
I was just wondering if I was to geet high enough that I had to balance or lean to a side to correct the drift.

don't wanna come down wrong and get tankslapped.

when i first started doin staggered wheelies, i would sit down with my foot on the back peg then clutch it and as it starts to come up, stand up....i still do them that way...its just more comortable to me

I have tought of tryin that way. but when my buddy wheelied my bike he said
that my cbr 1000 was very touchy (he also said that the balance point is sooner than I would think)

Is this true?
He also told me not to learn how to wheelie on a cbr 1000.
due to bein so touchy..

here is a picture of me attempting to do them. Yeah I know no gear.
I do get it higher every now and than.
I do ride with gear so be easy. Also if you look at the pic you can see my right index finger on the front brake(why) i can't break the habbit of letting it go.
