Tire Pressure

So my stand-ups have been getting that wheel shake lately so I searched and found that lowering my tire pressure will help. Which I knew and makes sense but I have a question. How much will lowering the pressure affect me in cornering? I'm not a full time stunter, I ride my bike daily and pull stand-ups daily but also love to hit the exit ramps and back roads. Looknig for some kind of all around solution, ya know? Thanks guys.

RE: Tire Pressure

find all the free air machines gas stations. Then keep a tire pressure gauge stick and some sort of needle/prong (to release air) unless the gauge itself can.
This way when your going stunting you can remove PSI to 20-30.

RE: Tire Pressure

For doing wheelies above 20 mph, have the tire pressure between 20 and 30psi. For doing wheelies slower than 20 mph, lower the pressure to between 12 and 20. 18-20 psi makes for a good all around psi. Lower tire pressure makes the wheelie more stable from side to side.

Thanks Vermino. That's a good idea but it's not that I go out to just stunt, I'll just cruise and if no one's around i'll pull it up on the high way. But getting off and on the highway i'm trying to drag knee. That's why I was wondering if I lower my pressure to 20-30 psi, how bad will the cornering be?

I would take about 10Ibs out and see where your at should be able to steady you out and still roll into turns good any more the tires gonna start suffering

yup, the lower the tire PSI the faster the tire balds. I've never lowered mine with my 1Krr (i wheelie on the street) but my zx-6r I do when I get to the spot.

Get to bp and you should lose the wobbles. I run mine at 34 all the time, no shake issues.

I run rear at 28, front at about 26, but I think I"m going to put it at 28 soon. I'd say 30 is a good compromise. I do more cornering than anything
