Or just put a notch on your levers, for a cheap fix.

Well quick question between cages and race rails. I still want to be able to ride the curves and wild mountain roads. I heard from a lot of people that cages will make your bike slide out if your turning too hard. My friend actually slid out last month because of his 905 cage.

Say I have race rails and i drop it. what will most likely be damaged, besides the levers and mirrors, that a cage WOULD protect?

(this is for cage)frame, some fairing, your whole engine compartment - it's pretty much the essentials of the bike running.. depending on how bad the crash is, it could be a couple of scratches on fairing, rims, mirrors to like a loop or a roll-over.
(race rails) pretty much the same thing but this is for somewhat high-speeds and when it's a slide, if it become violent and the bike starts to barrel roll or come off the road - the race rails will protect almost nothing.

this is why you buy a stunt bike because onceyouwreck your nice bike, it's never the same. Stunt bikes can be fun and you dont have to worry about having downtime if you need repairs on it (seeing how you will have a primary bike).

Cages will save alot, and will give you more freedom to push that envelope everyday because your not really worried about "once i wreck, i'm done for" - now your gonna break some fairing, get tons of new scratches but the bike will run and still stunt. speaking of fairing,it's only for show there - stunter's will usually keep on the bottom pan and the rear-tail fairing but everything else is usually off for easy access to working on the bike and/or investment when fairing does chip or crack.

By how you word yourself MUSIC - it seems like you really want a daily driver/twisties and a stunter, but race rails arent going to saveit. they are nice to have on a twisties so if you do get lowsided the rails will just slide the bike out - But with a 10mph wheelie and you let go, a drop will usually do some several damage to the frame or the rails themselves (they were never made for that). And a cage is not made for twistes haha. So it's either buy a stunt bike or maybe get a real cageandhave no fairing on so disassembly on the cage will come easy.

just FYI - a 600rr is alittle harder to stunt because the BP range is somewhat low. It's not an ideal bike because of how the engine is so tilted froward. Thistakes more torque to get the front end up but it's still do-able. like i said, a F2 or F3 are fairly cheap and are tanks when it comes to stunt bikes.

(sorry if it's alittle jumbled, wasnt thinking right tonight)

Man, thanks a lot. this really helps out. I guess I probably should get a stunt bike... But it will have to wait until i get back from this next deployment.

The advice for racerails vs cages helps me out a lot. I think I will still get a race rail on my bike though. But I think I will keep the tricks on my bike limited to wheelies only, until I get another bike, haha.

The other thing, and i have thought about it alot, is a cage is good for lots. But if you dump a bike doing a 2nd or 3rd gear stander, i dont think the cage is gonna save ya anyhow.

I think I rode my best wheelie out of bike night tonight... it was smooth, and easy, and I kept it up for a long *** time until I redlined in first gear. Speed increased a lot slower than usual, so im assuming i may be getting close to the B.P.? I want to get that B.P. so bad...hahahah
