Clean Air?

If i am going to start doing some wheelies and stuff (in lots only) should i do the Clean air mod? it messes with the hoses in the airbox and at certain levels, prevents oil from leaking into the airbox. Not sure if the F4i requires it.

I've bought all the stuff to do this mod and haven't seen much of a reason to do it now. Everything I read says that people don't notice much extra low end power (why I wanted to do it). I've been stuntin mine mostlly stock with no issues so it's up to you.

i wasn't so much looking for power as i was trying to NOT blow up my engine if you keep it verticle too long.

My bro's f4i spends more time at 12 then on 2 wheels i think, and he has no probs so far.

Its not really the torque thats the reason for the mood....Its to keep the oil out of the air box....Other then that, theres really no point in it. And alot of people can careless anyways. Because they cant keep BP long enough, LMAO.....=-)

It is so you don't get oil in the top of the cylinder and lock it up, and when it does come in to the air box it makes a bigjob just toclean it out, and offof the air filter, you should do the idle mod it help "don't have to us the in-rich screw"!

Can you point out a thread that goes over the "idle mod"? I still can't grasp what that does...perminetlly locks high idle? Switches high idle without the screw? Just don't get it...

RE: Clean Air?

Keep in mind when you stunt, you will be riding a higher idle... say 4k rpm...

So when you crash, chances are your bike will NOT stall, and WILL keep running. There in lies the danger of not doing this mod.

The 2 perks are, cleaner, colder air coming into the air box, therefor a "bit" more power, and no chance of getting hydro-lock on your tail end cylinders.

I've seen people throw a push rod through their engine block trying to push start their bikes having not done this mod. And I've seen people spending an hour pulling spark plugs trying to get the oil back out.

For the 10 minutes, and 5 bucks this mod costs... I see no reason you shouldn't do it.
