I finally wheelie my bike in 2nd gear, I have a stock CBR600RR. I watched the video of the guy doing the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear wheelies so I went out and tried to imitate what he was doing in 2nd, and what do ya know, the front end came up so sweet, I love wheelies in 2nd so much better than first, im addicted

 

if your shifting thru gears in a wheelie, you are just chasing the wheelie and not at BP yet, at bp you should be able to hold a steady speed. are you doin sit downs or stand ups?

 

Im not sure if youve seen the video or not, but he actually clutches one up in 2nd, then one in 3rd, then one in 4th, then finally in 5th. I think what hes saying is he copied what it sounded like in 2nd and the front end came up. Just thought id clear it up a bit... :S

 

yea, i just copied what he did in 2nd gear, i clutched it up, and yes it was a stand up

 

I started doing second gear wheelies and you are right, they are so much smoother and less aggressive over 1st gear wheelies. I practice every other day and over a few months I've managed to do well. Johnny

 

ahh gotcha, ya i thought he ment he pulled it up in 2nd and rode it out to 5th chasing the wheelie..
