thats a very light n fast bike. wait for warmer conditions to test it even tho i know u just want to ride. i just installed a jet kit in mine and its 3 deg here in Chicago and i cant wait to take her out for a test, but better judgement prevails with slippery pavement. its not your 600.

Jeez, blades are really that powerful?

Man, I need at the very least one more full season on the 600, reading this makes me glad I cant afford to swap yet...

And yeah, this IS a very special place compares to others where I've been looking around, like when somebody writes like hay I'm trying to do a donut and wheelie at the same time most answers are either blaming of trolling or just outright attacking, resulting the newbie either to leave or be kicked out. This place is a whole another story.

Yolie is trying to skate a bit right now and it's a good 20 degrees warmer here. Especially when I first start off in the morning. TC kicks in before she can actually slip the rear. But I know the feeling of breaking the rear loose very well. Cols tires + cold pavement = easing on the throttle more than spring / summer /fall.

That said, the other's warnings are quite correct. You can't be throttle happy with a liter bike. I'm not familiar with the 900rr. But I went from a F4i to a s1000rr. Everything moved around, especially the powerband. Where my F4i started entering the powerband around 7.5k-8k, Yolie starts to get on at 10k+. And while I had to discover this stuff through experimenting and testing limits, I did not experiment with her in the middle of winter. If you're going to test limits, you do so under ideal conditions. That doesn't just mean an open road. It also means good WARM weather.

I mean no matter how much you warm up the tires, you can't warm up the pavement. And if you're all bundled up against the cold, that (and when the cold creeps in anyways) will desensitize you somewhat.
yeah i agree completely. I'm finding the cold weather is making things much more difficult.. maybe ill just wait until it's at least 40 degrees outside.

fyi. the 600 is a toy compared to the 900 or my 1kf for that matter. ive heard many stories with bad endings on that bike from my Honda dealership. its almost too light for the power. ive ridden a 600 and it feels like a kids bike, ooops did i just say that, my badddddd

At least keep both wheels down till then. If anything right now is for getting used to the throttle. And learning how to make miniscule changes with it.

I'm quite happy with my kids bike :-). It's twitchy enough for me while I gain experience.

haha i agree somewhat. i just felt a 600 wasn't a big enough jump from a 250 felt so tiny. and the acceleration just wasn't that " kick in the pants" i was looking for when i hit the throttle.

Just learn that throttle man... feather that bitch until you really get to know it. I wouldnt be opening it up too much in winter. Cold pavement and sand sucks.

I'm late to the party but after my first ride on my F3, I definitely felt it was enough for me after my 250. I only went to about 50 in 3rd and never over about 6 or 7k. Smiled the whole way home and my wife laughed and asked why I was talking to it lol
