How do you put the magnet on? do you put it on the pipe or something? (is this dumb question?)

i've never had any different luck with the magnets than without. the lines are usually quite obvious to see, i just center myself over the front edge, seems to work most of the time.
frankly, i think the magnet idea would work better as a shoe modification than a bike modification.

some other advice you'll find include starting the engine/revving the engine.

Are serious or joking? How does that trigger light to change? Does smiling into traffic camera works too?

serious. i suppose the theory is that the magnetic field of the stator will fluctuate.

The reason the magnets work is because the sensor detects large masses of iron/steel.
Motorcycles don't got a lot of ferrous metals, so the magnets simulate the mass attraction that a car has. I just don't worry about it much, like I said, try to hit the sweet spot when I pull up, If a car pulls up while I'm waiting, I ease forward so I don't block him being detected. After a full cycle of the lights with no green, then I treat it like a stop sign. Check for when ALL traffic is clear and go. :-)

If it's at an intersection where there are no cars, and the light doesn't change, it is actually legal to run the light as long as you come to a complete stop first. This goes for motorcycles only, of course. Check your state laws though since I think it is different depending on the state.

Well in cali its not legal to run it but you could always just take a right turn at the light and the whip it around i have seen that in a couple of places they have a drawing of a man on a mike and that is were the sensor is so yeah but in older towns they dont have this and its quite anoying to be honest.
