Long Trip Suggestions
 

I'm taking an 8-9 hour trip from Nj to Ohio on my cbrf2 fighter. I plan on wearing snow pants, like 20 layers, 10 pairs of socks, a scarf, ear plugs, etc. Any suggestions for long trips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone

A tank bag to rest on and some type of throttle lock to give your right wrist a break. Thermal long johns help with the cold air.

those little heat pad things.. no idea what they are called. i live in iowa. and this time of year my hands can only last so long with even the best gear! so if you don't want to stop every hour or so to warm up bring those :p tank bags are awesome as well. boots keep the cold out the best. something to guard your neck. don't put on too many layers that will compromise your steering. about two thick coats is mine. otherwise i can't reach the handle bars haha. the thing that gets the coldest is my inner thighs. the gas in the tank will keep those nice and cold the entire way so as much fabric between you and the tank would be for the best.

Neck is highly important. Get a good draft to your neck and lower back and you can sub for a fence post for a few weeks. Last spring I got cold on my lower back from a one hour ride, hurt like hell to stand up from a car or a bench for ten days, let alone putting on socks. SpeKing of socks, Hope that 10 socks were a joke, don't over-pack the layers or you'll compromise blood circulation. Since it's a fighter Id probably tilt the handlebars back a bit so you wont lean on your wrists the whole time. Would be a good idea to put on everything you plan to wear and go for a quick spin so youll find out if you get a cold spot somewhere or if something's pressing. A wrinkle or a seam constantly pressing on your armpit or so can be a royal PITA...
