Having fun on boring roads

I am a newer rider, and absolutely love riding everywhere. One thing that has been on my mind is how boring most of the roads are that I have been on around where I live. For the most part, the roads are straight. I feel like I am wearing out only the center of my tires.

How can I have some fun on boring roads? If the answer is to find a twisty, then I'll just have to do some google maps hunting.

In all honesty, trackdays. They're so much fun.

It looks like there's Gingerman Raceway and Grattan Raceway in Michigan.

The only problem is once you start you can't stop. It can hit your pocket book a little hard too.

Well something I do here in Philadelphia is try maneuvering my bike between things on the ground. Make sure that you have a good size cushion between yourself and traffic tho. So between the left side of the manhole cover and left side of my lane. Over to the right side of the street plug and the right side of the lane and ect ect. It's not speed cornering or knee dragging. But obstacle avoidance practice does focus the mind, keeping me from getting bored. Plus works on skills.

Thanks for the advice Kuroshio, I do some of that also. There is no shortage of manholes or potholes to swerve around on these roads.

BDT, thanks for the track info, I wondered if anyone was going to mention that.

I'm just a few minutes north of Grattan. Nice track!

Seriously... Boring roads are for everyday use, for fun, you'd be looking at something like this:

Careful though... Twisty mountain roads can be TOO MUCH fun if you're not careful.:icon_hyper::icon_bike:

+1! I do the same...but pretty aggressively if there is no one around...
