I'm sure there are Options to lowered bike? How about a Corbin seat...those suppose to seat lower than oem..

Also tall riding boot will help too

Definitely don't want to lower bike as it could compromise handling. I would however, consider the Corbin seat and tall boots. Where could I get the seat?

Corbin sells them direct but $$$$ like $300 set....Sometimes you'll find cheaper used one on ebay for 1/2 the price....one member here got a deal for like $80 newly new....you just have to hunt around and be patience.

What year & make is your bike?

You say you were wide and may have hit the painted line?
If that's so, there's your problem.
I hit the yellow lines a lil too hot during a turn and felt the rear slipping some.
That was on a dry day with warm tires.
It was my first slippage, but I stayed calm and throttled more, leaned harder through the turn and everything worked out.
