What did you do after pulling the fairings?

First off, I know I'm asking alot of questions becasue I am a noob for the most part. But down to the point.

On my 02 F4i I just purchased, It has been swapped to 954 forks I believe, and stripped down for the "fighter" look. But in front of the gas tank, what did you guys do for that? Just leave it open, or have any of you guys made a cowl piece to go in there? I was thinking of trying to take some sheet metal and making a new cowl to cover the wires and clean that all up. I like the position of the ignition there, but where was it stock?

Usually there is a vanity cover/bridge over the tripple-trees that the ignition mounts into.

Yeah, the ignition is usually on the top triple tree in the middle on your bike. I did notice that you have an aftermarket top tree though - so the mounts may be shaved off. I tucked mine underneath the frame on the right side by where the radiator hose comes out. There was a fairing tab that bolted to the frame right there. I used those bolt holes for the ignition mounts

I left the intake tubes area open on my gas tank the first time - but now i'm building my own gas tank - and it's going to sit flush with the frame all the way around. I don't mind doing it because the new airbox is going to be taking in air from under neath, so above the valve cover. But as that area is for your intake tubes - I'd leave it open so you have more airflow to it.

So, this is my cbr 954 in kind of a mock-up phase. You can see the intake passages by the gas tank

I just left it be. But here is a shot of another 954 where a guy took the ram air snorkel covers - or whatever you want to call them - and modified them

Also, this is on a 929, but it's the same exact issue. it's sheet metal welded onto the tank.

Ahh okay awesome. I just figured it would look a little cleaner without that all hanging out. As I've said before I'm sort of a noob when it comes to bikes (modifications anyways) so that's why I'm asking so much on here. Thanks though!

That's no problem man, that's why we're here!
