well since I cant find a suitable 900 im gonna do it to my f2. out here by me the bike prices are extravegant beacuse of the time of the year, even used bikes with salvage or rebuilt titles. Im gonna find a headlight i like and gauge cluster for right now maybe a bike will pop up that will work and i can still use those same parts. and if i cant, i do a mini fighter overhaul on my f2 anyway. some help with places to look for a headlight would be nice, i seem to just keep stumbling back to acerbis and ebay searches. im still hoping for someone to put up an older 900

Just do what ever you can think of make it turn heads like some one has to look twice and still ask what kinda bike it is. A must is it has to be crazy loud and real mean or atleast make it so you can make it loud with 5 min worth of work to keep the 5-o off your case haha just have fun with it. It really helps getting to know your bike inside and out

Why do some fighters have dirt bike handlebars? I'm assuming for the looks, right? I do like them, but do they affect handling a lot?

I plan on swapping out the front end eventually, and I don't want to have it handle crappy with those dirt bike handle bars...

I wish I had more money and experience to start making my F3 a fighter now though lol

I have a F2 Race/Ratfighter with Renthal Dirtbars and turned it into a F23. First, I prefer smaller engines for the Cafe look than overproportioned engines to a stripped down frame. I figured out what I wanted to a bike cheap to beat up around town, twisties and the track. Parts are alot cheaper and easier to come by with older bikes.
Then found parts Yoshi race header and pipe. Better suspension, Fox twin clicker rear shock and Gsxr front fork swap. Trailtech Vapor digital guage for all my engine and speedo needs.F3 wiring harness for fuel pump needs. I am almost done with my project and so far very proud of it.
Dirt bars just have the same control I feel than clip-ons. Just a little higher and preference for my needs. I do have back problems so I don't have to lean so far.
But I say, keep your money with the F2 and work from there. You will be needlessly spending your money on something you already have.
I will be posting pics here soon.
