Default '96 cbr1000f streetfighter build

I traded a '90 ninja 250 straight up for this bike, it was in this condition when I got it off the guy and is definitely needing work cosmetically but I've almost got all the mechanics where I want 'em.

Picked up a 5" round headlight today from a local shop for $35, the bulb was blown but I picked up a new one from an auto parts store for $12 so I didn't have to drop that much for it.

I removed the headlight, instrument cluster, and front bracket then proceeded to chop the front bracket up to make brackets to fit the new headlight, and hold the wiring connectors and fuse box.

When I park if for the winter to jump into the internals I plan on rerunning the wiring to clean it up some.

I plan on keeping the few fairings I have on it, just gonna chop 'em up a bit so they flow better with the front end since I removed a bunch of bulk.

The tail section I'm going to get an aftermarket racing tail section, not sure for which bike yet, can pick one up off ebay for $140-$200 and that way I don't have to chop up the subframe.

I've been looking at one for a '04-'07 cbr1000rr and another for a gsxr 600 750 and they would all cover most the subframe, I would only need to chop off the bracket for the passenger pegs, but that'll be a little ways down the road.

Definitely interested in any input or suggestions

finally made up brackets to relocate the oil cooler and clean up the front a bit

Still trying to make up my mind on what I want to do with the back end, stuck between mounting the rear fairings and seats from another bike or chopping the subframe and make it into a bobber.

Any suggestions are definitely welcomed

I also smoked the headlight and taillight, then got some red led strips to mount on the rear and the front master cylinders as turn signals. Didn't really have the money to dump and do it the "right way" but wanted people to know where I was planning on going so it works for me

Got a little bored yesterday so I decided to cut out a couple small side panels for the bike out of an old dryer I kept around for some reason

What did you do to fit the new gauges? I'm looking to put some new gauges on my F4 but don't know what to do with the wiring. I'm about ready to give up and fit the old gauges.

Very interested with your build mate as I've just bought another cbr1000f-s, it's a 95 model and had been laid down hence a bit of cosmetics were wiped away. One of my thoughts were in fact to do a full transformation into a street fighter style so I'm very keen on your modifications

Your project looks good, where is it at now? I'm about to start down on customizing my first bike > 250cc, all stock, laid it down, broke it, got it running, broke it, got it running, now going to make her a bad **** street fighter girl. CBR 600 F4 2000. Ride safe

Did you keep the fuse box in the original location?
