Military Themed Streetfighter
 

Has anybody seen any cool projects / creations / fabrications like this?

Would like to recreate this not necessarily a V-twin. Just something that sounds nasty... deep and cammy!

I saw this and thought it was neat. (It's a V-twin and not an inline 4.)

I don't think the pricetag is very neat though... Would like to have a project with my husband maybe with some help from my dad... but it will be a challenge, cause my dad is about 1,300 miles away and I don't have ready access to machining equipment... don't really have a lot of experience with metal fab or anything at all. But I have my f4i to ride, and I don't really care how long it will take. Just want something fun to do with hubby. :)

what exactly is it that you like about that bike? have you googled "fighter bobber". you'll come up with a lot of i-4's or twins. you can add filters like that to carbs or TB's (i'm actually doing that with my bike). to have that tucked look, you want clip-ons. you should do USD forks with radial brakes. you can CNC and machine parts for it (triple trees, covers, plates, etc.) - that will get expensive. you can hide ugly stuff like electronics and cooling somewhat to show more motor.


you can build anything you want.


i'd pick a starting place (a certain bike you want to do) and go from there. google pics of frames and motors because those are the things that will be hard to change. IMO, a Bandit frame looks better than a newer 600rr frame for example. i don't like the huge wrapped aluminum frames (600rr) compared to tubular steel frames (bandit). you could do stressed member concept (like a virago) where the motor is an integral part of the frame. it all depends on what direction you want to go

IF you're going to Frankenstein a bike... for F***s sake make sure you have all the main stuff to finish it BEFORE you start... and don't be an idiot and start modifying everything before you get the bloody bike running... trust me, it ends badly :icon_gunhead:
