well, if you look through my last posts. i had a mint 02 954. that on fourth of july last year i was hit by a drunk driver, and totalled the bike, and broke a good few bones in my body. but hey im alive. update to this year, and im itching for a bike again. i couldnt justify buying a newer beautiful bike, as nothing would compare to my 954, and with the pain of all my hard work going to **** in maintaining a beautiful bike, i decide to go for the fighter look.
i picked this 92 f2 up had been wrecked, the previous owned fixed and changed some things but it was no where near ready for the road. i picked it up like this Attachment 38380 the front headlightw as held on with muffler strap and rattled around. no turn signals, no brake lights no gauges ran good but didnt hold idle. first thing when i got home is tore into the carbs, and had my buddy go through the motor, he said it has aftermarket cams, but they are unknown. so i pulled the carbs, completely cleaned them, and he rejetted the bike, has an ape manual cam tensioner, two brothers pipe. now that its running i cut 4" out of the midpipe and 4" out of the muffler *gonna chop another 4"* made some aluminum fork mounts for the headlights, mounted some aftermarket front and rear turn signals. used a trailer light as a brake light for now. just ordered a trail tech vapor gauge setup and vortech 520 chain and sprockets +1 -2. bar end mirrors and new grips i cut the stock seat down to a single seat and recovered it chopped the rear sub frame shorter, and angled the back end up 3" cut and chopped the rear foot peg mounts and extended it into a muffler strap. as soon as the gauges come in and the mirrors im gonna put them all on and shorten and tuck the front wiring and start riding it. come winter im gonna build a custom tail for a single seat, and probably go with a triumph daytona seat. and rebuild my entire sub from the ground up. heres some pictures as it sits now. im up for anything, the good, the bad, and the ugly! Attachment 38381 Attachment 38382 my crappy welding with my welder at home gasless :-( Attachment 38383 Attachment 38384 Attachment 38385 Attachment 38386 this is the direction im going with the tail.. but as a slightly higher angle. and about 2" longer. it will wrap under the seat and up the subframe. Attachment 38387 Attachment 38388 the mounts for the headlight are solid aluminum pieces now. not that jank hole filled stuff Attachment 38389 |

Dude your bike is looking awesome. I was in a similar situation with my bike. My gauges and headlight situation is still pretty ghetto though. Could you post pics of the stages of your trail tech vapor gauge installation?

this is where i decided to mount the temp sensor. so it will read at the hottest point *in my mind* before it dumps back into the radiator to be cooled.

i won a lawsuit yes, and won a very good chunk of change from the driver and insurance gave me fair market value for the 954
gauge mounted Attachment 38362 and the bracket i made to mount the gauge Attachment 38363 im also currently building a plate to mount somewhere that will hold three LED lights, red for the oil light, amber for the turn signal indicator, and blue for nuetral |
have a gauge question... i have an f3, and there's a ****ton of wires up there... where did you put all of yours, you probably had less to begin with because of the wheel speedo drive
