Sort of new to bikes, had an SV650 before I joined the military. Went and bought this bike and figured I'd start a thread to keep track of the work I do to it and get opinions and ideas from everyone.
A few details:
2002 Honda CBR600F4i
954 Front fork swap with all components (NSN brakes, controls, ect.)
HotBody's Undertail with LEDs
Black Metallic paint (New Ford Mustangs come with it)
Custom Candy blue powdercoated frame
Custom painted tank (PO ordered it online painted like it is, but never got the chance to PTM the black, will be repainted most likely next summer)
Delkevic exhaust
Slightly shaved seat
And literally a whole truck load of extra parts that need to go on or have come off
Plans:
Repaint tank to match black plastics, possibly POW*MIA logo or something airbrushed
Swap headlights to Ducati half fairing light setup or something different, PTM black or blue
Drop it ~1-2" for a more comfortable ride, or til I get used to the bike at least
Hide wiring and tubing better
Custom make cowl to cover front of tank/up to trees
Let me know what you think! Opinions and questions all welcome!
The first time I've used the hitch since I've bought the truck
Just to show the color and metallic

Trust me thats one of the first things I am pulling off. I can only ride til October up here anyways (if the weather permits) due to Military regs. So this winter I plan on doing some work to it while its put up and I cant ride it.
And suggestions on a headlight setup? Wanting to keep the fighter look. Maybe like a half fairing Ducati style.

Just be careful about some of the bikes with projectors (that Ducati uses). Those projectors are really long, and they cause the fairing to stick out REALLY far.

Yeah the Military really likes to tell you what you can and cant do. And for the part of Alaska I am in, it normally doesnt get too cold to ride til about November. Summers are awesome since it is sunny til 2am-ish and comes right back up around 4:30am-ish.
This was one of the MANY parts that came along with the bike. 12 o'clock bar. Still digging through it all trying to find out what it all is.

Black powder coated dogbones showed up today and was quick to bolt them on. Came with a stock, -1", and -3" drop, and I went with the 1 for now, as the 3" drop seemed too drastic and the tire was dang close to my plate in the rear anyways. And it IS possible to change your links and dogbones by yourself, no need for a friend! It would have been nice to have though.
Now I gotta do something with the kickstand, it stands almost straight up now.

Cut ~1" off the kickstand and welded on a bigger foot for it, plan to reshape it soon. Just needed to get it leaning again.
Now I plan on just taking everything off and giving it a good scrub and repaint if its black or rusted. Going to give the headers a nice heat treated black spray hopefully. They look out of place with the rest.

Right on! I was going to say "cut and weld that bish!" but I was too late. Great job too. Thats a gas set-up isn't it? It doesn't look like flux-core (at least I don't see much spatter if it is).
As far as painting the headers, leave 'em on, cover the bike with newspapers, and spray it if you're going to use that really hi-temp stuff. It needs to be heat treated - and it will definitely come off if you even touch the header with your finger before doing so. I messed up on my Buell doing it. I figured I'd paint them off the bike so I could get a real even coating, put them on, and run the motor after I was done. I took a bunch of dry paint off! Plus, even on the parts where I didn't take paint off, I could tell. I'm assuming it had to do with the oils on my hands (rookie mistake).

Honestly I didn't weld it, a buddy did it for me while I ran down the street to get some food. I cut it off where I wanted it and plasma'd the foot out, and he welded it for me. I believe it was a MIG welder. Wire feed? I am not a welder but trying to learn eventually.
And I'll definitely take that into consideration. I planned on taking them off too. How do you say I get in between then motor and headers without removing it? Either way it would look better than the rusty dingy looking metal now.

And I was looking to replace my stator cover since it is scuffed up, with this or similar black one.
