So... i bought this beauty of a 95 cbr600f3 after someone had wrecked it, sold it to another dude, sat for a year, and then made it to me for $500... came with an extra set of forks that weren't bent and another tree, a windshield, road rashed fairings and mirrors... well i got to messing with it and the fuel pump was shot, rim is bent VERY nicely -_-... and the forks were off of an f2... so i bought a complete 954 front end for the same price i paid for the bike...

On to present day... i've sold most of my extra f3 parts... ordered an aftermarket chinese fuel pump, bought an 8in. extended 600rr swingarm (which has been done before... Fathead_03's 1996 CBR build "to be named" - Custom Fighters - Custom Streetfighter Motorcycle Forum )
i went to put the inverted forks and tree on today and the F3 has caged ball bearings whilst the 954 has tapered rollers... both sets were ****ty anyways so we busted off the bottom tapered bearing on the 954 trees and i'm going to order an All Balls tapered roller bearings and races kit after i sell the goofy ass headlight (looks weird without any fairings

this brings me to the question portion of the thread...
What would be a cool looking/ well lit headlight to use?
i was thinking about getting the Danmoto 180 dashboard/ gauge cluster ( Danmoto 180 gauge cluster - YouTube ) because i'm not wanting to keep the gigantic fairing stay and stock gauges... thoughts on that?
and when i get the aftermarket gauge cluster what should i do with all the gauge wires?

and lastly, what are your opinions on cutting the muffler?... it has a D&D something on it which i took of to clean because it is INSANELY rusty, i saw a ton of threads on here but not one using a D&D

i realize it's A TON of work... but i'm young (20) and have ambitions to keep this thing for a ling while

alright, i love f3s! hey man, fighters are a labor of love. as far as the headlights, those fleabay ones are JUNK. i had one, and first, the bulbs they take are near impossible to find - i had to go to a scooter (the motorcycle shops didn't even have them) to find them. they blew every other day or so. the ****in' thing melted too.

not to mention, you can't see sh*t at night with them. that's why you should look at real headlights. either off of another bike or actual projector headlights that are built using real automotive bulbs. i'm using an mt-03 headlight now and i've also used a v-rod headlight. they're a lot more expensive than the ones you've listed, but having used both - they are REALLY worth the extra coin.

that's a good front end to use. i loved fatty's build - too bad he kinda flaked out. he used a v-rod headlight. and i think it's almost as important to update the swinger as much as the front end, so i'm going to be stoked to see how yours turns out. too bad you bought a chinese fuel pump - i've still got an f3 fuel pump just sittin around doing nothing. if it doesn't work out, let me know, i'll give you a deal on it.

my 954 came with ball bearings, not the tapered rollers, and i just bought a set of the tapered set from allballsracing, and i'm not quite sure how to use them.

lookin' forward to see where this goes. can't wait to see it cleaned up

at the time it was cheaper than OEM by damn near 50% do i'll let you know if the pump actually works... i would like to use a headlight that's not the V-rod one... i know it's metric but it still is a harley and nothing made by HD gets along with me lol

so.... trying to follow the steps in DIY - Stubby your Exhaust. Not 56K Friendly. - Custom Fighters - Custom Streetfighter Motorcycle Forum
i drilled out the rivits and it didn't come apart the way it shows in there... so then i tried to take off the other side... needless to say it's still together so i'm just going to chop saw it

i chopped mine, is it possible that the bottom side of the rivet didn't get all the way out.

pics help
