03 600RR - Revert

Hello everybody,

First things first. Mods please move this thread if you feel like it fits in the 600RR section.

I'm thinking of finally picking up a 600RR but the one I am looking at has a streetfighter-ish setup on it right now with a different headlamp and some 905 race rails. I'm not looking into stunting as of this moment so I was wondering how difficult would it be to get a stock headlamp back on. Not sure what kind of headlamp is on the bike. Do you typically hack the wires up for a conversion or does the stock wiring harness support a 'plug and play'?

I'm trying to decide if it's worth my time, trouble, and money. Thanks guys! Dibs on this if you are in the area...

It looks like the only thing that guy did was put a ****ty acerbis on it - in which case it should be pretty easy to get it back to stock. You may have to solder some pig tails back on and shrink wrap 'em - he probably has them (make sure to ask him).

But before I tell you oh it's easy, just go for it - price out what it'd cost to get it back to stock. I have to think you'd hate the look of just have the RR headlight on there with no fairings. Price it all out for yourself on ebay before you buy it, because you're going to need a lot more than just a headlight and a top fairing. Ask the guy what he has, what he doesn't have. Tell him your intentions.

And see if you can price out the pig-tails on ebay too just as a worst case scenario. You may figure out that it'd cost a lot more to buy that bike and put it back to stock than buy a 600rr that's ready to go.

They do usually have to switch pig-tails to run that headlight. But don't be discouraged by having to put some other wiring on there - it's easy.
