Newbie in Houston/Austin
I just wanted to introduce myself and see who else around me posts on this forum. My name is Alex and I just bought a used 1996 CBR 600 F3 with about 19,000 miles on it. I'm huge into the car scene and have a 2006 GTO with full bolt ons (448 rwhp). The CBR is going to be my first bike to learn to ride on.
I'm a senior at UT and have the bike sitting around in the garage until I get my motorcycle license. I already bough gear (helmet, gloves, jacket) and am in the process of getting the bike insured.
Anyway, if you are in Houston (Rice Village Area, Deer Park, or Clear Lake) or Austin area speak up. I would love to meet some other CBR guys and to learn more about these bikes from ya'll.
Lastly, if anyone knows a mechanic or someone qualified to check out a bike, please let me know. I want to get my CBR checkout out (for safety reasons) prior to riding it.

Whats up man - congrats on the bike. I just joined the forum - CBR F2 with issues owner. I've been riding for 10 years, so lots of mechanical knowledge. As a new rider, take the advice everyone gives you and "TAKE IT EASY" for a while. The F2, F3 bikes are awesome machines and very forgiving but they are still FAST.
Other than that, let me know if you need anything, mechanical advice, riding advice, etc. I'm so stoked to be on a bike again after a three month break. You're in for a world of fun.
Cmac.
