RE: You know your car is slow.............
My first car was everything I didn't want:
White 1986 Escort 4MT that absolutely would not peel out but loved to hit things like trash barrels and various construction signs.
Later on I bought an 88 GT with a blown motor and swapped interiors and a few exterior parts and junked the GT.
Rallied the '86 for about a year before rear-ending someone....that car was clapped before I got ahold of it...but what a blast! The best $500 I ever spent!

My first vehicle was a 94 GMC sierra ext. cab z71.Man I miss that truck.I lifted it and put swampers on it. All of this onmy paychecks from McDonalds. What a life that was... the only bill I had to pay were insurance, gas, and beer for the weekends.

I MIGHT have you all beat. I drove a 1981 Chevy LUV truck with a 1.9 liter Izuzu diesel and a 5 speed in it. I lived two miles out of town and it took at least a mile and a half to get it up to 60. I'd fill up the tank once a month for 10 bucks. Course, that was when diesel was a third of what it is now.
I've stepped up since then:

AND HERE SHE IS!!!!!!! The car that does 0-60 in twenty-something seconds! (she doesn't look too bad though.)
And yes, I've had her since high school.
BEFORE the $1000 makeover...............
AFTER the $1000 makeover..........paint and wheels DO make a difference........
