Yes, He topped his own bid for the good cause and tax write off.

 

dudes.. he added the money for tax reasons and for the fact that it goes to charity..

 

He upped it because he paid one million for the oldest surviving corvette, 1953 #003, and wanted to match that price. Amusingly, he outbid the official corvette museum in BG, Kentucky for the 1953 unit and now gets to go there and have a special presentation of this newest corvette with the museum representatives in ovious attendance. He now possesses the oldest and the newest corvette in existence, until number 2 rolls off the line, lol.

 

The funny part about that car is as bad *** as it is even with all the carbon fiber pieces to "shave weight" it still comes in heavier than a current z06. Still a sweet little ride though.

So... what's this "in four years all vehicles have to meet a 35 mpg law"? I'm assuming that's only for passenger/private vehicles.

"CAFE" regulations mean that the companies total average fuel economy (excluding certain vehicles) must equal 35 mpg or they're subject to penalties
