Great reason not to trust your mirrors..
The second cop in this video deserves an Olympic Gold Metal for how fast he is responding to the scene.

If you pause it and hit play frame by frame, you see the bike cut off the van and.. the rest is history.

Yup seen that one a few time before and it still hurts..
Very very rarely do I ever change lanes without turning my head ...
Mirrors are ok for a quick glance to spot stuff in the distance (cops ect.. lol ) , but if any sort of traffic is kicking around ....yu gotta turn yu head guys ..
Notice how fast the car that clobbered him was going as compared with him ..
That guy on the bike was going pretty dam slow, which made it even worse for the traffic in the left lane dodge him..
all not good ...
