yea total rider fault there, i had that happen to me about 10 times on the dragons tail where i hit the peg bike pops up a little just lean right back over instantly, couple of the corners just scraped the peg the whole way thru with a nice spark trail lol.

 

I know that turn very well...its just down from The Rock Store. Truly amazing the number of crashes on that turn. Yes, there is some target-fixation at that turn due to the photog set up on the corner. However, many of the accidents occur there due to the decreasing radius turn catching riders off guard.

 

Looks like it happened because he left his toes below the shifter like a noob. I've seen it a bazillion times in pictures all over this forum, and that's exactly what happens when you go a little deep.
Dude hit his foot... panicked... picked the bike up... then forgot wtf he was doing.

You don't want to wreck with your toes under, either. Sometimes you can't get away from the bike if it falls on the left side. I learned this on the dirt and it sucks.
Scraping feelers is a different feeling and is usually more controllable because you don't feel it directly on your foot. It just feels like vibration/grind and a little lift. At least your foot can go up a bit and doesn't feel like "oh chit my foot is getting ground off"

 

I used to drag my toes a little bit and it never bothered me that bad. Now I put whatever foot is on the inside of the corner up on my toes basically so that doesn't happen. Haven't dragged peg yet though so I can imagine it's probably a strange sensation the first time. Looked like he had plenty of time to correct it though.

 

The pegs on my 900rr used to move up/back when I would scrape them- like they would give a little bit- I later found someone who helped me set the suspension up for my weight- I am 210, and 6'4" so I was loading it down a bit considering I bought it from a little sawed off guy that couldn't have been more than a buck forddy-
Definitely sucks though!!
