went out for a joy ride with my new go pro camera and this is what happened to me

Gotta watch out! Good job being alert. That kind of shtuff happens everyday to me. Fn clueless drivers.

That sucks. It looks like the van never even saw you. Glad you saw it coming and were able to avoid.

I wonder since you have it taped, could you show it to the police and see if they can ticket the driver based on the video and plate no. that would be sweet.

I think that there should be a traffic school for learning on how to use your mirrors /look and how to merge with your signal. . . . good thing you saw it.

I texted a cop friend of mine, he said he wouldnt bother because there is no way of proving who was behind the wheel. that really bugs me, I mean it's obviously not too hard to find out who was driving if the police take one step further.

a typical day on the highway -- i pretty much assume every car is going to do that.

Great job being alert and even better job not chassing it down. It is easy to get frustrated and do something stupid and that is where bad things happen.

Excellent points! I always assume folks in cars/trucks don't see me. That takes a lot of the guess work out of staying out of harms way. Getting frustrated over other driver's mistakes is very easy to do, but driving while pissed off will get you into trouble before... well, even before you realize it.
