anyone know what actually happened.

 

I saw this before, the engine blew the spark plug or the piston right out/off the bike.

 

It was the piston. I saw this a couple times before

 

I read the actual write up when I posted this several months back. It's a NOS DETONATION (too much NOS and not enough fuel). The guy is fine and his hand is still there. There wasn't any parts flying ... pistons and such are still there.

 

Now that had to hurt. Do you remember what his injuries were??

I saw the write up the rider actually wrote and I don't think he even got hurt badly. It was a nos burp like Don said and what hit him was part of the air box. He still races the gixxer with the nos, but now he has armor just in case. If I come across the website with all of the info I'll post it up.
