I'm going to vote intentional.

The truck's angle was too sharp to simply be changing lanes. And 'bogarting' in front of a semi is suicidal. Just IMO, I think he was trying to give the rider a scare and overestimated his control of his truck.

If it's in California, I'd be pressing for assault and attempted murder.

Apparently the video is from Mexico.

Legality of lane splitting there can vary and may be legal based in individual transit rules but it apears as though its illegal in many/most larger cities.

If it was legal there it seems odd the truck driver would intentional act crimminally at fault and incur damages just to make some 'point'.

If its illegal than the biker loses twice.

Again, its not about being in the right, its about being alive. As a rider your choices can have unyielding repercussions. You have to live by that and 'with' that. Do so wisely.

Like I said, he could have been trying to give the rider a scare and screwed up. I've had people try to scare me when I'm riding legally, occupying the lane I'm rightfully entitled to. Nothing like looking over and seeing an idiot grinning while he inches into my lane.

No doubt.

Like I said, you gotta expect that. ;)

I've been riding for going on 40 years (knock on wood) and I havent been hit in the street yet.

Besides a certain amount of favorable luck, its mostly because I trust no one and expect them to do anything.

Legal or not, lane splitting IMO, is just plain stupid and if you do it you better expect the worst.
