Well, I'm only 25 minutes away from Gateway International... but it's not really that great for motorcycles. Not too many organizations seem to put on track days there either.



I did have a blast. It was basically like having the track to myself. I just hope that didn't spoil me for this weekend - I'm sure there will be quite a bit more traffic.

Voodoo... you should try it, no matter how far away the track is. Here's what you do:

1) Buy a child molester van from some dude that just got put in jail - this should make it very cheap as he'll be trying to raise bail money

2) Convert the van to a bike hauler - all you need is a wheel chock, some eye bolts from the hardware store and some tie-down straps.

3) Load that bitch up in the back and take off to the track


See! Simple! 3 EZ steps and you are on the road to fame and fortune as the greatest racer in modern times.

Just remember allus little folks when you hit the big time.

 

What exactly has to be done to the bike to go from street to track (besides taping over lights)

All I did was remove the mirrors and licence plate. I used painters tape on all the lights and then covered it with duct tape. You have to remove the fuse for your headlight or it will melt the glue of the tape on the plastic. I disconected the break light also. So tracks want you to use water wet or wetter water (whatever it is called) instead of coolant, but I am to cheap and lazy to do this. looks awesome!! I am still hesitant to get my 07'600RR out there on the track because it's brand new! kinda sucks though cause thats the main reason I bought it was to take it to the track and hit up the corners! Guess I won't mind so much when I have it for a while!

 

Looks like you had a great time. One day I'll try and make a track day.

 

I'm doing another track day again tomorrow.... 40% chance for rain. Hope it holds off.
