Default Pic rep, MP-14 Motorbike exhibition, Helsinki, Finland

Just got home a while ago and got the pictures sorted. As usual, a lot of Finland`s finest bike builders gathered to show their fruits of labor as well as the bike importers and gear sellers to display their newest offerings. Here`s some pics for you:

First off, when I entered the first hall I wondered from afar what is that Beemer doing there, wasn`t this a bike show?

Oh well, that`s one way to make a trike

Here`s another

..and one for the younger builders, a Honda z50 "monkey"

A Jincheng monkey replica, wonder why it has an extended swing

A few `busas

Turboed Rocket 3

Looks like someone got a new welder for cristmas and welded the whole contents of the shed attic together

a few ice and land speedway bikes. Wouldn`t want to get run over with those tires.

guess that`s one way to mount a boxer engine.

...a what? never heard.

the ride might be cold but at least your feet stay warm

As usual, the streetfighter turnout was abundant.

50 pic limit per message, more in a minute.

One thing came vividly into my mind about this one. Spinal fracture. Nice "paint job" though, those are real newspapers under the clearcoat.

not sure is the expression "eatin` nails and crappin` chainlink" familiar around the world.

Interesting tail light, might not be E approved... is that an old petcock crap trap?

Triumphrat forum username TomiKoo:s scrambler with the maestro in the yellow shirt.

HD with air ride suspension

mandatory chick pic

stand by for more, gonna post the new bike side pics in a while.

The nation`s finest`s new toys on display

Let`s see, breathalyzer, check, navi, check, radar, check... but where`s the coffee cup holder and the donut spike?!

The R1 "pursuit bike", actually seen this one in action last summer.

The new bike section was a photographer`s nightmare as there are no barrier fences and you are actually allowed to sit on the bikes so there are hordes of people flocking around anything pic worthy, pushing and shoving you and if you actually manage to get a snap half of the people walk in front of you by accident and the rest on purpose, but here`s a few pics I managed to get:

Apparently here is the agricultural section as all the tractors are gathered here There also was a "safaried" GS Beemer but didn`t manage to get a single non-shaken peeps free shot that wasn`t burned white by the spotlight... My camera was struggling with the lights the whole time, I shot over 175 frames of which about a hundred was usable.

Why oh why didn`t the 125cc bikes look so good when I was a kid, the "must have" thing back then, IIRC, was the Aprilia Af1 Futura and after that the Replica.

Interesting front light, probly would have made the lower lip a little shorter myself...

Ajo Motorsport`s tools, the white one is Niklas Ajo`s 250cc single cylinder Husqvarna, dry weight 82kg!

would be interesting having to do some highway driving on one of these.

Would be even more interesting to get to do some wilderness travelling on nut deep snow with these. The feds can`t decide what to call the ATV:s so they`re registered as tractors.

Triumphs are making a comeback this year. Test sat the Speed and the Street triples, didn`t like the position at all. Mine`s a lot better

Airbrushed tanks for sale, 100 EUR a piece.

Found these chaps getting ready to go from the front door when leaving. True motorists arrive in a bike exhibition with a bike! Oh, did anyone tell you it`s friggin` January?! Listened them talk to one guy that they got 250km to do before home.

Was a fun day, and an interesting drive back home in a hellish snow blizzard for 130 km:s, hope those KTM guys made it safe too...

Ajo's bike is cool to see in the flesh I bet.

And KTM is going to do well if that's what their 125's look like. They actually outsold BMW last year (in case you're ever on Jeopardy...) overall, even when BMW had their highest sales year in history.

The Ajo bikes looked so tiny! Almost as if there was a handle in the saddle you could lift it up and and carry home!
