Hey

This is a trip I took recently from my lock via the Shroppie Canal, Llangollen
canal and the steam trains to the beautiful fairytale village of Carrog....

I piloted a 40ft narrow boot on this journey and then took the steam trains
to Carrog ... includes images of Chirk aquaduct and tunnel ... I didn't have my
cameras with me on this trip as I had to travel as light as possible ... so I used
my old pictures and videos plus one or two I had to steal like the Chirk tunnels etc.

I just wanted to give you guys a good impression of my trip which was wonderful and to a magical place

The boat people have always got a cheery wave

These canals were here since the late 1700s ... not much has changed either in the last 30-40 years, these scenes could be from 1973 or today .. time seems irrelevant here and the narrow boats are timeless, they never change ... the steam trains at Llangollen are wonderful to take to Carrog .. makes you feel like you're back in the 1950s or something



Thank you, that is partly their intention to ... I try to capture the essence of where I was ... the music is a beautiful piece and I found a nice version to suit the video ... we all move too fast today, the world I lived in last month has such strong appeal for me and indeed draws me closer each year I live ... I will probably eventually sell my cottage and buy a boat, live out my days on the waterways here
