I wanna choke people like that. Seriously...[:@] Woman doesn't say anything about how many car wrecks there are a year... there may be more and more bikes being registered, but who cares? How many more cars are being registered? Not to mention, she needs to do some more research there. I mean, who usually get's hurt or killed? It's not very often (not saying it doesn't happen, just not in the majority) that it seriously hurts a cager or pedestrians. It's usually bikers that get hurt. Hell, most every piece of gear I buy has the "Motorcycling is an Ultra Hazardous activity" blah blah and how the gear maker doesn't assume any responsibility. 'Information' like this is everywhere. Everyone who gets onto a bike on the public roads needs to be aware of the risk, and accept that as part of the experience. ~End rant~

RE: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
I know there are more dumbass riders on sportbikes that make the rest of us look bad, but out of the 6 major (some fatal) motorcycle wrecks we had in the city last week, 5 were cruisers not wearing a helmet. 1 was a sport touring bike and someone pulled out in front of him.
Either way, that video was HEAVILY biased, but some of what they spoke is true............and we have the squids to blame for that.

Well, I would love to say that I hate these kinds of tests, etc....
but you have to admit, sportbikes tend to lure a larger group of specific type of rider that the cruisers typically don't. As such, from a financial standpoint, sportbikes have a larger risk to the insurance company. Plus keep in mind, when the plastic gets damaged, it's expensive to replace.

I did know that 747 went that slow to take off, I think the government should do a study to find out why
