Default I accidentally found the place I had searched for 16 years!!

and when I did, I still didn't realise I had actually found the spot I had been searching for all these years ..lol

About 1993 I took my F2 off road and down a wooded path to the lake where there is a wonderful view right across,
a picnic table to sit at and have lunch and total peace and quiet far, far from the crowd ....

I always tried to find this spot again, but the lake is huge with multiple run
off areas and all the trees and foliage looks identical when riding along the
road

I never did find it again, despite trying ...

I just assumed that the beauty spot had grown over and was now shielded
from the view of the road.
Then, the other week when I took my bike off road again and down that
wooded path I showed you, I thought this looks so familiar but there was
no picnic table and the view was indeed much over grown compared with
what I remember, I thought I was in a similar but different location... it was
only when I got back and compared pics I realised

it was the exact same place ... someone nicked my picnic table though ..lol

I claim photoshop shenanigans! Notice the boat is missing!

Nice to find the place again - and also the funny feeling you get when you find something strangely familiar.

Wow! Check out the difference in motorcycle and camera technologies in the 16 years between those photos.

How far from pavement are you parked Jules?

What happened to the stump in the middle of the path in the first picture?

Where's Waldo?

Those trees are the same. Especially the leaning one.

Deja Vu.

I wonder who has that table in their back yard?

Next time leave bread crumbs.

That is a beautiful place Jules. Glad you found it again. Wonder what it will be like 16 years from now. I wish I could find some places like that near my place in LA.
Love your pictures from other posts too.
Thanks

WOW that's awesome!!!

I bet you were really happy when you discovered that place. Rewoked some memories!!

And those two pictures show a great difference in technologies.

thank you guys, and yes, it was strange finding that place again ... especially as I didn't realise it was the exact same place mainly being the lack of picnic table and the view being somewhat obscurred now ... I just happened upon it in 1993 and thought what a lovely spot, had my lunch there, took photos of the bike and moved on ... each year as I passed the lake I would look around but must have just kept missing the location ... this year 16 years on, I just saw the path as I passed slowly by and thought I wonder ... it was only when I got home and downloaded the pics I saw it was the same place :-)

yes, the technologies too, the F2 versus the RR, film versus digital ... you can see my bag with my film SLR and all it's lenses on the table, now I just have the one digital zoom camera in a pocket that also does my videos ... amazing!!

Also look at the little tree that is growing out of the seat on the F2, now find it 16 years later and see the difference ... of course bigger trees never change much ....

I wonder if I can find it again in 16 years time on my new fangled HoverRR ..lol
