Alright, the insanity of doing this on the road aside, it proves to me once you have a certain level of power for the road that much more doesn't make any real world difference ... that Kawasaki is 1400cc yet the 1000cc Honda was holding it, yes there was a small pull away at one point but without seeing exactly where each bike was in the rev range I think in terms of getting from point A to point B at crazy speeds most big bikes are the same. The difference maybe the Kawasaki for touring due to size and comfort and the Honda for going off for a blast around the twisties, each bike excels at different things even though most bikes are even in a straight line.
These straight line races just don't prove much to me.

EDIT: They were winding these bikes right out ... a fairer test and better information would be the roll on from certain speeds in top gear, then I think you might see a real difference but when you wind bikes right up to the red like that it doesn't tell you anything about the engine's behaviour elsewhere in the rev range ... low and mid range is what counts on the road.

I think the 0-60 on my 600RR is 3.2 seconds and for the 1000RR is 3.0 secs ... that is very close, but I would not want to take on a 1000RR in a roll on from 60mph.
