glad he made it. it sucks big time that he did not just land/crash in the water instead of ground.

I've heard that hitting water at that speed is just as bad as the ground. I know I've dumped it water skiing at maybe 50 or so and it sucked pretty bad, the water seemed to grab onto me instead of letting me slide along loosing energy and speed. But, no comparrison to hitting @ 80. Article I read says that he had a streamer, his chute deployed, but didn't open, just fluttered above him, but the fluttering chute at least slowed his speed to 80mhp and he landed in some big blackberry bushes that pretty much saved him. A punctured lung and two broken ankles. Not too bad for falling to earth at a high rate of speed. Why the hell would you want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane anyways.....j/k, I sure it's fun as hell as long as theres no sudden stop at the end.
