Talking filming with a hard drive camcorder

hi i been reading some posts that say that they been recording with a hard drive
camcorder mounted on a simple tank mount, and they said that recording was affected
by engine vibration.

so im figure it out, that maybe if they use a hard drive camcorder, but instead capture
video on the camcorder hard drive, they switch to memory card mode they will capture the
video in the memory card.

maybe the hard drive system stop working.

does anybody have done this yet???

there are many camcorders models that have hybrid technology like the sony handycam DCR-SR45.

hybrid technology alows to you to capture on hard drive or memory stick.
why dont you try this?

Sounds interesting, but filming my rides would be very boring to anyone watching

The same thing can happen with mini dv cameras, the tape head bounces around and causes lines and skips in the video... I only ever record with memory cards now. Typically with my go pro, but I have been known to mount my 5d Mark II up with a fisheye for short clips.

I could see that happening with a regular hard drive camera, but this is why theyre starting to use solid state hard drives now.

I had to turn off the drop sensor AND use a memory card to get my sony HDR XR100 to work with my mount. It works fine now, but my DV camera wont work, just causes it to go into error mode and tries to eject the tape.
