can anybody identify this bike?

I'm going to try messing about with the exposure and contrast values on the pic later tonight and see if I can get the logo on the tank to pop out a bit more.

Thanks for the advice and kind words there Stealth, sadly I'm not in California nor do I have the bike in my possession. It went to his brother at some point who is still alive and kicking. With luck he still has it parked up in the back of the shed or at least knows where it is. Would sure mean a lot to find and own it.

Sunbeam M90 comes pretty close. Seems to share quite a few similarities with the Nortons, wonder what the relations between the two were at the day.

My guess is that sunbeam and Norton had many parts in common.
