Default Busted the office squid!

He's on my Facebook and he's always talking smack about riding. One update was bout him doing 155 mph on I-95 because it was "so relaxing". Another was about him walking on a wheelie on one of the more ****ed up streets in Philly (2 way single lane with heavy traffic, potholes, trolley tracks and TROLLEYS). And posting pics of his tires

So one day I see his bike in the office lot and I go over to take a look. WTF?!? His rear tire has no edges and it looks like he locked it up going over a cheese grater. I KNOW this guy is more straight line speed than corners. Then it clicks...

So I catch him today and asked "Who'd you buy your tires from? I need a cheap set cause I got a flat and can't get a brand new set for a month." He says (of course) he buys them from a guy who hits the track. Then he catches himself and gets the embarrassed smile on his face. Said I thought so. His response (which sealed his squid-dom eternally for me): "Naw but I be hitting the speed out there too"

That's worse than taking sandpaper to your strips imo: passing someone else's tires off as your work in the corners

I hope he's paying extra for those 'custom' tires. ;-)

Whether or not it's true, that's the furthest I feel I can safely go with them. Especially with 5 year old tires.

I'll go grab some pics of mine here in a second, but man i'm surprised you've let your tires go that long. You're very conscience of things like that usually.

Sounds like time for some new rubber buddy - tell Yuen its 4th of July present time

Yeah, I know. It's just a pain in the *** since the dealers aren't open on my days off (Sun & Mon). And the shops I wouldn't trust to wax Ororo. Last guy I let change the tires on the F3 he put them on the rim backwards. And then said it didn't matter

Hoping to get some on Tues since that's my holiday and she's due for an inspection too

Here's mine. Not the best photos - in my garage at the moment.

Not bad for rural riding!

Since this is turning into a Chicken Strip discussion, with photos, I'm moving it to Sights & Sounds

(See? Even I'm not immune )
