[color="#000000"][font="arial, sans serif"][size="2"]A motorcycle accident Monday on Frederick Boulevard ended with the death of a female passenger.
The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. as a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a man and woman was traveling east on Frederick Boulevard and had just passed the southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 29.
The male driver applied his rear brake, which locked up, said Sgt. Bill McCammon, one of the St. Joseph Police Department officers called to the accident scene. This caused the rear of the motorcycle to skid, ejecting the female passenger, Mr. McCammon said. The woman was wearing a novelty helmet that didn't meet minimum safety requirements for head protection, police said. She slid some 30 feet into a red Honda motorcycle.
The Honda had a green light and was starting a left turn to go west on Frederick Boulevard before the woman slammed into it.
Neither driver appeared to sustain life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Richard Ketchem, an officer at the scene. Ambulances transported both drivers to Heartland Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
The Harley-Davidson finally stopped about 300 feet east of where the driving had started braking, which was about 30 feet east of the I-29 ramp.
No conclusions have been reached in the ongoing investigation, Mr. McCammon said. No names were released Monday night.
Police rerouted traffic for more than two hours while officers painstakingly mapped out the accident and searched for clues.

RE: Bad ending to good day
Sorry brother, I posted your story as I heard it. Was a bit different, but not too much. Same result.
I didn't know you were in St. Joseph, man. Main difference in stories was that I was told it was that Spencer kid (16yrs. old, red 06 600RR) and that the cruiser had crushed the female riders back.
Sorry to hear it again, man. It always seems somewhat expected when it happens with a car, but when it's two bikes, it's just that much more suprising. It was nice to see your bike make some tv time, but not like that.
Take care man, hope everything works out. Did you know the other riders?
