Default Awwww Shiieet!!!

well, I broke my bike today, luckily not myself though.. I bailed into a ditch doing something like 70 kph (45 mph), exact speed, I don't know, i wasn't paying attentionto the speedo, i was in 2nd or 3rd gear and just was a little hot coming into the corner

this is the corner, it's the sweeper before the switchback

it was a KILLER ride, sooo much fun, and honestly, despite having munched every fairing on my bike, I actualyl still left the ride with a sh*t eating grin.. yes, I rode it home, and still rode it after that

Here are pics of the carnage

check out the header dents, and you can tell I was pushing the bike hard, look at the feathering on the rubber of the front tire.. that totally surprised me[IMG][/IMG]

Man atleast you are ok, I gotta say they, you own one hell of a dinosaur. We nicknamed my buddies old bike The Dinosaur cause it was the oldest bike that rode with us but this one takes the cake.

You gotta love the Hurricane. That bike can take a beating. I can't believe you were able to ride even with the bent headers. What did it sound like after the wreck?

they weren't cupped when I started the ride!!, the rear tire is pretty new (1500 kms)... I think I might be able to fix the headers by heating them til they are white hot with an acetylene torch and applying air pressure inside them.. might not be perfect, but should work

the bike doesn't sound all that differant now!!!, it's a little down on power, but honestly, I think it still makes better than 90 HP, I had no trouble doing 180 kms after... I think I'm going to go pick up the leftover pieces today, I have to head out in that direction anyhow... lol... go take some pictures of the turn as well

If you have gas welding (or MIG), it's just to cut away the dents and weld new steel plate over the cutaways.

thats cheap, or better yet call around at local junk yards or ebay, my beable to find a cheap set.

those tires like the ones on my gs500f are not made to do that, get a set of m1's or better yet m3's and i promise you will love them

Yes i also noted that the front tyre is well antiquated. Strange also that the threads are arrowing in the rotating direction since it not a rain tyre for tracks.

That's being polite. There are age-cracks in the tire groves.
