so ya jam the rear - the bike stands up and slides out - what else could be expected

I'm thinking this Guy is a very new rider

Classic case of non commitment (chickening out) in a turn - foot dragging pretty much
tells all.

He's got lucky that he didn't get his leg broken between the bike and guardrail. That was soo close.

That's the famous turn down from The Rock Store. The turn itself isn't all that complicated. While it is a decreasing-radius turn, its not technically all that difficult. What typically happens is, riders approach that turn too fast & then panic when they can't get the bike around the corner. Many riders also get distracted from the turn by looking at the photogs & spectators.

most of the wrecks at that corner don't happen that early though. i think he a) was a very new rider and b)got so freaked out, he forgot to turn

Very beginning of the clip, it looked like he still could have saved it if he had his wits about him.
